Lotus
A tiny acrylic painting added to my journal with washi tape. It measures 2x2. Just trying to get a feel for lotus blooms for some reason. You can see others at the end of the week when I post my entire journal spread.

Making stamps
Making stamps, originally uploaded by Trish Nonaka.
Something I've wanted to do for a long time but never got around to. Totally fun and addictive. I thought I would do one and before I knew it I had 10 cool shapes. Here's some examples in my journal!
Here is the little kit I bought a while ago and used. It comes with a wooden handle, 2 carving tool bits, instructions and a piece of Speedy Carve which was big enough to do all these stamps. Let me know if you it try it and what you think! Would love to see what you come up with. And here's a pinterest board I just found about making your own stamps you might enjoy: http://pinterest.com/arteveryday/make-your-own-stamps/

Art Journal Update
Here's a peek of my art journal from this week. I'm sure you will be seeing more coral images in the future since I am wanting to do a piece that has coral on it. Still in the thinking stages and playing around with the structure, etc. You can also see where I was messing around with dip pens and trying new inks (upper right corner). The entry on the left is actually not from this past week but I forgot to add things to this journal for a few days so just began on the same page when I picked it up again. And though I don't post them to a linky and all that I do create something from I Am the Diva's weekly zen challenge.

Found Pod
A small, quick watercolor of a pod I found in the front yard. No idea what it is since it was on the side walk and the closest tree is a crepe myrtle. Do they have pods?

Collage Journal cover
I decided I wanted to start a separate journal for my collage experiments and ideas. I was including them in my every day art journal but think this will work better. As I said in my previous post I was inspired by Donna Downey's Collage Monday post which does not mean they look anything alike! That is the lovely thing about inspiration!

Great New FREEBIE App for Droid
I love taking photos of Emi but she tends to move so quickly that I haven't been able to get very many "on the fly" pix of her on my phone. I just found a great little app that I LOVE already after only ONE session with her! It's called Fast Burst App. You simply download the app, open it and when you are ready you hold one button down on your screen. It a split second I took 14 photos of Emi. From there I was able to run thru them, delete all but the best one (you can keep as many as you want) and voila! A great picture of my fast moving pup!
Now something that I just learned in uploading this...because I have all my phone photos automatically go to DropBox (another FAV app!) I actually have all of the pix I took of her still. Not sure if that is something I am going to love or not. Stay tuned on that issue!

My Art Buddy
Though these are not taken in the studio this is my sweetie pie, Emiko. She is usually right by my feet whenever I am in there working. She has become so accustomed to it that it is the first place she looks for me. I have shared with many of you that she has seizures but I am happy to say that I think we have them under control for the most part. She is doing very well with the overseas/cross country move and has settled in quite nicely!

Question
When you pin objects of one color to a pinterest board do you consider them art or design? Thoughts?
